Adherence to the following specifications will be helpful in the preparation of your proofing order:

Card size:  2.125” x 3.375” (without bleed)
For artwork designed to the edge of card, please design a 1/8" or 0.125" bleed past the outer edge of card on all edges.  The corner radius is 0.135”.  Allow for a 1/2" or 0.5” mag stripe.

Media Drive Disk accepted are:  CD ROM, USB Drive, Zip Disk 100

Electronic File Transfer:  Email for compressed files under 10MB, FTP for files over 10MB

Software programs preferred (other programs may require additional handling & charges):
• Quark XPress 6.0 or less
• Adobe Illustrator 11.0CS or less
• Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or less
• Adobe InDesign   

Instructions for Quark users:
• Save your document as a .qxd file
• Check all colors for proper spot or process separation
• Placed PhotoShop imaged should be .tif files
• Placed Illustrator/Freehand images should be .eps files
• Collect for output. This will prepare a folder with all used support files.
• Add fonts to Collected folder
• Compress this Collected folder using Stuff It (MAC) or Zip It (PC)
• E-mail to your sales or customer service rep
• Or upload it using our FTP instructions

Instructions for Illustrator Users:
• Save your document as a .eps file
• Check all colors for proper spot or process separation
• Convert fonts to outlines, unless you are sending in all fonts (screen & printer)
• Avoid transparent colors; and drop shadows within compound paths
• We may need your actual image file of any embedded images
• If you are utilizing a mono, duo, tri or quad tone, we will need actual image file
• Place all files and fonts into a single folder and Compress this folder using Stuff It (MAC) or Zip It (PC)
• E-mail to your sales or customer service rep
• Or upload it using our FTP instructions

Instructions for PhotoShop Users:
• Add 0.125” on all edges of your artwork to allow for bleed
• Save your file as .tif or .psd; save duotones as .eps files
• If possible send both flattened and layered versions of your file
• If you are sending a layered file only, please send all fonts used
• Resolution needs to be 300 pixels/inch at actual size
• Artwork should be CYMK or Grayscale instead of RGB, Indexed Lab
• Ensure your artwork is built to size or proportional
• Place all files and fonts into a single folder and Compress this folder using Stuff It (MAC) or Zip It (PC)
• E-mail to your sales or customer service rep
• Or upload it using our FTP instructions

We support Macintosh output, but can handle PC files converted into the applications listed above, provided that fonts are converted to outlines and, colors are correct and support images are sent to us.

WE CAN ACCEPT PDF AND JPEG FILES WITH REQUIREMENTS:
• Ensure that all files are saved in the correct color format
• Please ensure that the resolution is 300 DPI at the actual printed size of card
• JPEG will always be a 1 color or 4 color file.  If your design requires spot colors, JPEG is not an option
• WEB IMAGE FILES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR PRINTING

If you have a color print out or a previously printed sample card that you would like us to match, please send with the digital files and be specific as to what you would like us to match (i.e. sample card, Kodak proof, chromalin, etc)

Please include a complete set of laser proofs.  If you have used color, print a laser proof for each color used.  This is a good way of checking if your file is separating correctly before sending.  If color is not separated in your file, laser proofs must include color markups, screens, overprints, reverses, etc.

• Keep all text and important images 0.0625” away from trim
• Minimum point size for reversed out type is 6 point
• Ensure artwork has 0.125” bleed on each edge that prints to trim
• Solid black areas on 4-color process jobs should be rich black (70 cyan, 30 magenta, 0 yellow, 100 black)
• Four Color Separations will be output at 150 line screen.
• Art not meeting the requires will delay the production of your order
